In the United States, most people file taxes using a Social Security number. However, many non-citizens who work in the U.S. use a different form of identification issued by the IRS, called an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or ITIN. If you're interested in applying for an auto loan with your ITIN, speak to one of our experts here at Sunrise Ford North Hollywood, and we'll gladly help you through the process!
What is an ITIN Number?
Ford Credit is Committed to Providing Support for Financing Customers with Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN)
At Sunrise Ford North Hollywood, we're committed to making your car-buying easy and straightforward. Ford Credit's non-citizen applicant review process is an additional, yet simple step designed to help Ford and Lincoln dealers deliver vehicles to more customers.
Under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Ford Credit reviews every vehicle financing application. If you are a non-U.S. citizen or use an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), you may be asked to provide documentation that helps verify your income, residency, or other information related to your application. Below are examples of documents that may be requested to help complete the review process:
- Proof of Income: Copy of W-2; tax returns (1040/1040A); or bank statements
- Proof of Residency: Copy of lease or deed
- Proof of Valid ITIN: Copy of ITIN card or IRS letter (if applicable)
- Copy of Visa or Employment Authorization Card (if applicable)
